Day by day
Rome (Civitavecchia)
Embark at the port of Rome; the Eternal City by private arrangement this morning, sailaway down the coast as the light turns.
Sorrento
Clifftop gardens and inlaid-wood ateliers above the Bay of Naples; dinner ashore with Vesuvius smoking faintly across the water.
Positano
Tender to Spiaggia Grande beneath the waterfall of pastel houses. Linen, lemons, and a lunch reservation we have already made above the beach.
Amalfi & Ravello
The Arab-Norman cloister below; then up the hairpins to Ravello's Villa Cimbrone and the Terrace of Infinity, where the coast falls away in both directions.
Capri
The Blue Grotto at first light before the flotillas; the chairlift to Monte Solaro; the Piazzetta at the hour when the day-trippers leave and the island exhales.
Ischia
The green island: thermal gardens, the Aragonese castle on its rock, and the quietest harbour lunch of the voyage.
At Sea — The Tyrrhenian
