Day by day
San Cristóbal
Fly in from Quito or Guayaquil (arranged), embark among the sea lions that run the harbour, and sail past Kicker Rock at sunset.
Española
Punta Suárez: waved albatross at their only nesting ground on Earth (April–December), marine iguanas in breeding colours, and a blowhole that fires thirty metres.
Floreana
Post Office Bay's barrel — leave a card, take a card, no stamps, the system works — then flamingos in the lagoon and snorkelling at Devil's Crown.
Isabela — Tagus Cove
Whaler graffiti from the 1800s on the caldera wall; penguins on the equator; a panga ride along cliffs where flightless cormorants dry their wings.
Fernandina
Punta Espinoza: the youngest, purest island — marine iguanas in their thousands on rope-lava, sea lions in the mangroves, no introduced species, no nonsense.
Santiago & Bartolomé
The postcard: Pinnacle Rock above two bays, one golden, one green. Snorkel with penguins off the point, then the summit view at golden hour.
Santa Cruz
The Charles Darwin Research Station and the highlands' mist forests, where giant tortoises move through the grass like slow boulders with opinions.
North Seymour & Mosquera
Blue-footed boobies dancing at arm's length, frigatebirds inflating scarlet pouches, and a farewell snorkel over white-tipped reef sharks resting in the shallows.
San Cristóbal
Disembark at the interpretation centre's doorstep. The islands keep their indifference; you keep the recalibration.
